“Volumes of air” project

Estimate air consumption for you or for a group (family, city, etc.)

Answer the following questions to evaluate your air consumption. This 11 question form will require less than 5 minutes to complete.

The form calculates consumption for a group, group that can count a sole person if desired.

  1. The group can be one individual (ex: 1), a family (ex: 4) or even a region (ex: 100000).
  2. Does the group use one or many efficient cars (5 litres or less per 100 kilometers)?

    If so, how many hours by week does the group use this type of vehicle...

    Example: 3 vehicles traveling 2 hours per day, 5 days a week gives 3×2×5=30 hours.
  3. Does the group use one or many compact cars (more than 5 litres per 100 kilometers)?

    If so, how many hours by week does the group use this type of vehicle...

    Example: 3 vehicles traveling 2 hours per day, 5 days a week gives 3×2×5=30 hours.
  4. Does the group use one or many sports utility vehicles (SUV)?

    If so, how many hours by week does the group use this type of vehicle...

    Example: 3 vehicles traveling 2 hours per day, 5 days a week gives 3×2×5=30 hours.
  5. Does the group use one or many school buses?

    If so, how many hours by week does the group use this type of vehicle...

    Example: 10 vehicles, 8 hours per day, 5 days a week gives 10×8×5=400 hours.
  6. Does the group use one or many trucks?

    If so, how many hours by week does the group use this type of vehicle...

    Example: 3 vehicles traveling 2 hours per day, 5 days a week gives 3×2×5=30 hours.
  7. Do members of the group travel by airplane?
    Examples: 1 person who took 1 flight = 1 flight; 10 persons from your group who flew on 10 different airplanes = 10 flights; 10 persons from your group who flew on the same airplane = 1 flight.
  8. Does the group use one or many chainsaws?
    Example: 3 chainsaws used 1 hour per day, 5 days a week gives 3×1×5=15 hours.
  9. Does the group use one or many hedgers?
    Example: 3 hedgers used 1 hour per day, 5 days a week gives 3×1×5=15 hours.
  10. Does the group use one or many gas powered lawn mowers?
    Example: 3 lawn mowers used 1 hour per day, 5 days a week gives 3×1×5=15 hours.
  11. Does the group use one or many jetskis?
    Example: 3 jetskis used 1 hour per day, 5 days a week gives 3×1×5=15 hours.
